Peter Johnson

Finance

I qualified as a Solicitor whilst working full-time by attending night school to first qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and then as a Solicitor. I enjoyed a long and successful spell in a suburban firm of Solicitors heading the residential property department before joining a West End firm in 2000.

In this role I was in charge of the entire non-contentious department before setting up Johnson Crilly Solicitors LLP with Gerry Crilly. I specialise in all aspects of property both residential and commercial.

I advise flat owners in relation to the collective acquisition of the freehold and advise landlord's when tenants claim collective acquisition. Individually I advise flat owners on legal rights to extend their lease which often results in applications to the Leashold Valuation Tribunal. I also specialise in the making of Wills including Inheritance Tax planning and advising on the merits of variation to Wills following death as well as the actual administration of estates including applications for a Grant of Probate.

In addition I deal with the creation and registration of general or enduring powers of attorney and setting up and managing family trusts.
